General Installation Guidelines:

The following general installation guidelines must be observed while installing the Careco Ice & Snow Melting Heating Cables:

  • Clean the area below the heating cable so that it is free from sharp objects. It is extremely important to keep heavy equipment, machinery, vehicles, shovels and rakes away from the cable to prevent damage.
  • Lay down the binder/base coat of asphalt and roller it smooth.

  • Fix the cable on the prepared surface by using the metal fixing strips or the network of re-enforced bars.
  • When pouring asphalt DIRECTLY on the cable, let it cool to 110 ˚C and below.
  • Do not cut the cable.
  • For further installation details, do contact our trained supervisors.

(Note: test the cables to ensure they have not been damaged and record the readings).
